We are pleased to announce that Singapore General Hospital has been recognised as an IASIOS Centre of Excellence, becoming the first in Asia and only the second worldwide to achieve this distinction.

This milestone reflects the hospital’s strong commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred interventional oncology services, aligned with the most rigorous international standards. It also marks a significant step forward for the field, as leading institutions across Asia continue to shape the global landscape of IO practice.

We extend our sincere congratulations to Prof. Kiang Hiong Tay, Prof. Bien Soo Tan, Dr. Farah Irani, Dr. Sonam Tashi, Dr. Chandramohan Sivanathan, A/Prof Too Chow Wei, Mr. Loke Jiun Siong, Ms. Joyce Liu, Ms. Agnes Wong, Ms. Yap Siew Kuan, and Ms. Arjunana Sarupraba — as well as the entire radiology team — for their dedication to excellence and continuous improvement.

Being designated a Centre of Excellence means fulfilling both the core and extended CIRSE Standards of Quality Assurance in Interventional Oncology. These standards, supported by over 40 national and international societies, including the European Cancer Organisation, set a comprehensive framework for delivering safe, consistent, and high-quality care.
