First Year Forward Grant

We are excited to announce that the First Year Forward Grant returns for a second time in 2025. After its first run in 2024, the grant once again gives hospitals across Europe the opportunity to take their first steps towards IASIOS accreditation.

Kindly supported by Boston Scientific*, this grant will fully cover the enrolment and 2026 annual membership fee for each of five select hospitals, helping them achieve global standards in IO practice. This grant offers you the chance to bring your hospital to the forefront of IO, ensuring the highest standards and best practices are implemented for your patients’ benefit.

Securing IASIOS accreditation through the First Year Forward Grant goes beyond financial support- it’s an opportunity to lead, innovate, and set new benchmarks in interventional oncology across Europe. All eligible hospitals are encouraged to apply!

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Be located in Europe.
  • Have completed at least 150 therapeutic IO procedures in the last 12 months.
  • Achieve at least 75% on the IASIOS Self-Assessment.
  • Provide a signed financial commitment from the appropriate authority (e.g., Head of Department, Hospital Director) to fund the full four-year accreditation cycle after the first year.

Application Materials:

  1. Motivation Letter: Explain why your facility is applying for the grant and how IASIOS accreditation will benefit your IO department and patients.
  2. Self-Assessment: Evaluate your current standing and identify areas for improvement with the Self-Assessment Tool. A minimum score of 75% is required. Once completed, we will send you your results with tailored feedback and guidance for any areas that may need refinement.
  3. Project Plan: Provide a detailed roadmap that outlines the steps, timelines, and team members responsible for achieving IASIOS standards. Check out the following resources for writing an action plan and business case proposal.
  4. Financial Commitment: Submit proof of financial support for the full four-year accreditation cycle, signed by the appropriate authority (e.g., Head of Department, Hospital Director).

Key Dates:

  • Deadline for Submission: February 2, 2026, 16:00 CET
  • Selection Period: February 2 – February 28, 2026

Once the facility is selected, they must register for IASIOS within four weeks, or the grant will be forfeited.

Selection Process:

All applications will be reviewed by an independent review board. Applicants will be informed on the success of their application no later than two weeks after the selection process is closed.
