Hospital da Universidade de Coimbra

“Undergoing the IASIOS certification process was an excellent opportunity to evaluate how cancer patients are treated by Interventional Radiology at our hospital in Coimbra.

To provide the best possible care to every patient who seeks our services, it is essential to ensure that our practices are aligned with the highest international standards and recommendations.

The certification journey allowed us to thoroughly assess our procedures, refine our methodologies, and strengthen our commitment to quality and patient-centered care.

After all the dedication and daily teamwork, achieving IASIOS certification brought our team great pride and a deep sense of accomplishment.”

Hospital Curry Cabral, Unidade Local de Saúde de São José

“The Portuguese IR Society (APRI) has been steering the implementation of the newly created IR subspecialty in Portugal. Five Hospitals in Portugal were considered cornerstone for future training and certification of young IRs during their fellowships. APRI felt the need to certify these 5 Hospitals, to provide them with additional tools to implement successful IR fellowship programs. Curry Cabral Hospital was amongst these Portuguese Hospitals. It is with great joy and honor that we can now provide evidence of external certification as an IR unit. We will officially start structured fellowship programs in 2026 and IASIOS helped us to improve our overall structure, organization and training.”
